Rushmere St Andrew Parish Council

Rushmere St Andrew Parish Council consists of 15 Councillors, elected by parishioners on a four-yearly basis. The Councillors represent the residents of the parish and are committed to looking after the needs of the parish along with ensuring the parish is a nice place to live and to ensure that the Parish Council is run in an efficient way.

The Parish is divided into three electoral wards, Beech Ward south of the A1214 (Woodbridge Road) and east of Linksfield Road with 2 Councillors, Village Ward north of the A1214 (Woodbridge Road) with 3 Councillors and Tower Ward south of the A1214 (Woodbridge Road) with 10 Councillors.

The Parish Council meets on a regular basis throughout the year.  Find out more out more about our meetings.

The Parish Council owns and maintains 4 play areas and a sensory garden in the Parish. The Play areas in the Tower Ward are Tower Hall Play Areas (Broadlands Way IP4 5SU) and Broke Hall Playing Field (Salehurst Road IP3 8RY); Chestnut Play Area (Chestnut Close IP5 1ED) in the Village Ward and Yew Tree (Yew Tree Grove IP5 2GL) in the Beech Ward. The Sensory Garden is located in Kelvedon Drive in the Tower Ward, IP4 5LW.  

The Parish Council also owns and maintains the Rushmere Lawn Cemetery to the rear of the St Andrews Church, The Street and the Allotments along The Street in the Rushmere St Andrew Village.

The Parish Council owns and maintains Limes Pond (The Street), the wildlife strip along The Street; Foxwood wildlife area and the Council maintains Chestnut Pond (The Street). The Council also owns and maintains several strips of land dotted through the parish.   

The Parish Council employs a full time Parish Clerk, Mrs Sylvia Stannard to support its activities. The Clerk is based at the Parish Office, in Tower Hall, 5 Broadlands Way, Tower Hall, IP4 5SU. It is advisable to phone to book an appointment before visiting the office as the Clerk may not be at the office.
